Jakks has bagged master toy rights to Slugterra - a new sci-fi action-comedy adventure series set to air on Disney XD this autumn.

Leading U.S. toymaker JAKKS Pacific, Inc. announced today a licensing agreement with Nerd Corps Entertainment, Inc. to manufacture, distribute and market a line of toys based on the animated series, SLUGTERRA. The sci-fi, action-comedy adventure series is set to air on Disney XD in Fall 2012 with 39 half-hour episodes, plus 39 one-minute online Slugisodes.

This October, DreamWorks is releasing Real Steel, a future-set story starring Hugh Jackman and Evangeline Lily where robot boxing is a popular sport. In conjunction with the film’s release, JAKKS is launching a diverse and innovative product line, hitting upon multiple play patterns to give kids control over the fighting action. Real Steel toys hit retailers Sept. 1.
