Platoon Figures

I just found this on the 21st Century website in a press release about the Platoon figures:

"High quality sculpting catches every detail of the uniforms, and four different upper torsos mean that these are not just cookie cutter figures with different heads. The faces have been carefully sculpted to capture the characters from the movie, and have been approved by the Movie Studio."

Maybe I'm being a little to critical of 1:18th scales figure but I couldn't see that much of a difference especially in the bodys. I hope one of you see them soon so I can hear your opinion.

OK. Sorry for the repetitive posts but I finally found some photos of the Platoon figures and also a figure of the new 21C 1:18th Vietnam Era figures. Tell me what you think. I'll say that in these press shots the head sculpts do look different but I still don't think they look like the characters. The bodies and accessories look the same.

I like the extra body parts, you could set up some real gory dioramas with those.

Yeah, all of the figures look the same for the most part. Different faces, which aren't all that accurate, like you mentioned Goth, and the weapons are a bit different. A lot of the accessories are identical, and some have been mixed between the figures (grenades and knife for example). The extra body parts are cool though, and they do have a good amount of accessories. Thanks for the pics Goth.

I checked these figures out again today at Walmart. The back of the card show some vehicles a tank and a helicopter. As much as I don't like these figures, I have to admit they're sucking me in like a moth to a flame. Everytime I go to Walmart I start looking for them...like they're going to get better or something.

To try and scratch my 1:18th military itch, I went to Target and bought the Target Exclusive Forces of Valor WWII Germans & US Army figure and a Sherman Tank. I found the Force Unleashed Evolution set hidden on the military shelf so it was worth the trip.
