Platoon Figures

I just found the new 3 3/4" Platoon figures by Ultimate Soldiers at Walmart tonight and I can't believe how bad they are. All four look identical but they are supposed to be Barnes, Elias, Taylor and Lerner. Even worse the pictures on the cardback look good but the figures look nothing like the pictures. I guess I'll have to settle for the Platoon MiniMates.

Well... I suppose I won't be getting a new Willem Dafoe figure figure to add to my collection of "action figures of people I never thought would be made."

I honestly don't remember hearing about these. I'll need to visit Wal*Mart to check them out.

Willem DaFoe was made in the Spidey line, so he had one already

That's true, but you can never have enough Dafoe toys. (I suppose Sideshow did make those 12" Platoon figures...)

I think we're working up a whole 'nother thread idea here.

You need to get the "The Shoveler" figure from that Mystery Men line of toys then. (I've got it around here somewhere. Just found the shovel in a box not to long ago.) I can't think of another William H. Macy figure. Unless they've made Fargo figures and I didn't know it.

I forgot he was in that movie and figs were made. I dont recall any Fargo figures.

Platoon figures? Wow. Interesting idea, sounds like they really screwed it up though. I just watched this movie a couple of weeks ago (for the SSG Oscar Challenge) and never thought about figures for it, but now that I think about it, there are some good ideas there. Too bad they did a poor job, from the sounds of it.


No Fargo figs. I would have known about them.

Sideshow actually made some fantastic 12" Platoon figures and there are even MiniMates. Interestingly on the back of the card for the Ultimate Soldier figures it also showed a tank and a helicopter. I guess they have high hopes for this line but they need to make better figures or at least the figures they show in the pictures.
