Default Power Morphicon

Anyone plan on going to this? I wish I could, but it is out of my means.

Power Morphicon:
The first fan-run convention commemorating nearly fifteen years of Power Rangers and its worldwide audience.
It will be a big year for Power Rangers. Not only is it the fifteenth anniversary of Power Rangers in North America, but it will have been thirty years since Power Rangers' parent, Super Sentai, premiered to Japanese audiences.
We are pleased to have to opportunity to bring together fans with actors from almost every single series from 1993's MMPR all the way through 2007's Operation Overdrive.

Date:
June 22-24, 2007

Location:
2007's Power Morphicon is being held in beautiful downtown Los Angeles, surrounded by shopping plazas, museums, theatres, and restaurants.
Within walking distance is the new theatre district including the new Walt Disney Concert Hall and numerous theaters where there are sounds of Broadway Musicals, live theatre, and numerous special events. And wihtin just minutes is the Mark Taper Theatre and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Other places of interest that are just steps from the convention include the popular Garment District, the Jewelry District, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Union Station, and USC, just to name a few.
If a star sighting is on your agenda, you can jump on the Metro directly across the hotel and be in Hollywood in less than 15 minutes. You can also take Metro right to the gates of Universal Studios Theme Park and City Walk.
Within 20 minutes of the hotel you'll also find the La Brea Tar Pits, Santa Monica Pier and Promenade, and LAX. The offical hotel of 2007's Power Morphicon is the Wilshire Grand, the same building the convention is being held in. Remember, the promo code for booking your rooms is MMCORP

Yes, after you've spent time sharing your love of Super Sentai with others, why not round out the weekend by touring a few sweat shops in the ugliest part of LA?

Seriously though, I'll bet this convention is a lot of fun.

Little Tokyo?

I'd be careful. I've heard there's big trouble there.

Yeah, it does sound like it would be a blast. Who would of thought 15 years ago Power Rangers would be right up there with the likes of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Transformers in the crazed celebration/convention department.

Pity I can't be there, because I bet amongst all the fans dressed as Power Rangers at least one of this guy's homemade Zord costumes will also be there.

Dragonzord

Red Dragon Thunderzord - Warrior Mode

Good thing there will be around 16 Power Rangers and several dozens of wanna-be Rangers to keep things under control.

But no Rita Repulsa?

Forget this. If I'm paying to go to a Power Rangers convention, Rita had better be there, signing pictures of herself for free!

Another guest has been announced and this one has to be one of my personal favorites. He is probably the best villain character to hit the show since Lord Zedd's debut.

I have been on cloud 9 for the past few days just pouring over all the stories, pictures, and video snippets taken from the show.

While I didn't get the first hand experience, it looks like Power Morphicon was a big success. Fans got to go out and have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks with the cast/crew (at least a dozen more than what were announced) to casually discuss the show. Bandai showed up at the convention with some new items in the works for PR's 15th anniversary. Tons of props and costumes (or parts of costumes) that were used on the actual show were being sold off. A documentary film on the PR fandom was announced to be in the works by Tony Oliver and a good deal for it was filmed at the convention. There is even promise that a majority of the panels were filmed and will be available to view online within the next couple of days/weeks for fans like myself who were unfortunate enough to not be able to attend.

Even the cast/crew were happy and suprised by the success of the convention's turn out (especially by the likes of adult fans). It was so successful in fact the VIPs of Disney were impressed enough to ask (more like give an ultamatum) to the PR fans who started MMCorp. They are asking MMCorp exclusively to do another Power Morphicon in 2 and a half years.
Disney apparently will ONLY give sanction to MMCorp to do another ranger convention. Disney and Bandai (not to mention the guests) only want to do this if the same people are involved. An answer is expected by MMCorp within a month after the MMCorp have had a chance to rest after the hectic pressure they have been under for the past couple months/weeks getting ready for the first Power Morphicon.
