Default Transformers - The Movie (and the toys)

Soooooo, I saw "protoform" figures at Target tonight, and while I was tempted to buy one just because it was new... I ended up passing because they're just not as interesting as all that. And they were $10. (Booo!)

At this point, the only thing from this film (as far as toys) that I'm interested in, are the "Gear Robots." The game, digital camera and cell phone are very cool (very Microman), but the binoculars are a bit lame-ish.

I saw these also the other day and thought they looked like poodoo.

    That's because they are poodoo.

Looks like the movie is coming out early. All the trailers are saying July 3rd but a quick search of local movie times has Transformers starting at 8pm tomorrow night, July 2nd.

I saw the movie last night at 8pm and it was awesome. I wasn't a tranformers fan but I am now. I'd be interested in hearing how longtime Transformer fans view the movie.

I loved the movie! I've seen it twice now!

I was a G1 fan who sat in front of a television set every day after school in 1984, and was in the movie theaters for the animated movie in 1986.

I have some complaints, but I'm like 90% loving this movie and plan to watch it some more in the theaters!

I haven't had this much fun at a movie since Star Wars!

I'm not going to say it's bad without having seen it, but nothing I've seen or heard indicates that it would be worth paying $15-$20 to see. I'll wait for the DVD, at least, and maybe for HBO.

So has the Mountain Dew Transformer ever been made into a toy?
I really want one of those.

The Dewbot? No. That would be funny actually.

What the movie collection needs are Decepticons done more to scale:

Leader Class Starscream (likely a Trans2 figure anyway, so no real worries)
Leader Class Blackout - so necessary and such a cool character!
Leader Class Bonecrusher - has to be in scale to fight Optimus Prime

I do not own the LC Megatron but may buy the repaint if it is colored right. I keep passing on the old one. I saw it in the store the other day. It is colored so awful I just don't want it.

That's a shame. The "Dewbot" would have been very cool as a toy.

I agree, the three you mentioned should definitely be leader class in size. I'm still hoping for that actually.

What's this repaint of Megatron? Got a link to a pic? I hope if they do that, that they will take out some of the pansy blueish hues and make him more silver and dark silver/black. Also, I would like the "wings" to be easily removeable.
